Charles “Chas” Wesley Robertson was born August 10, 1848 in Virginia to William Robertson and Sarah T. (Foster) Robertson.  He spent his early childhood near Botetourt, Virginia, later residing in Giles, Virginia.  On August 3, 1874, he was married to Elizabeth Luemma Miller.  They had nine children: William Austin (b. 1875), Sarah Victoria (b. September 24, 1876), Carrie Alice (b. 1877), Tobius Sullens (b. March 18, 1880), George Stewart (b. June 19, 1881), Basil John (b. October 30, 1884), Almira Ann (b. December 2, 1886), Zollie Zobeda (b. October 15, 1889), and Charles “Chas” Frank (b. September 1891).

Chas passed away on June 26, 1917.  He was buried at Staffordsville Cemetery in Staffordsville, Giles County, Virginia.
