Margit “Margretta” Andersdotter was born on May 31, 1845 in Mora, Sweden. She was married to Anders “Andrew” Linn on January 2, 1863. Five years later, in 1868, the couple emigrated to the United States, settling in Omaha, Nebraska. They had seven children: Christina, Andrew, Chas, William, Oscar, Ellen Victoria Linn (b. April 1, 1886), and Walter. The family lived in Logan, Dodge, Nebraska in the early 1900s. Logan was a small railroad town that flourished between Arnold and Gandy. The town is now in ruins–only a few buildings remain. It is located five miles west and three miles north of Arnold. After the railroad left the area, the town went to ruins.
The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a large group of friends near Hoskins, Nebraska in 1913. Anders passed away several months later. Margretta lived in Nebraska to the age of 91…she died in July of 1936.
