Mary, daughter of Henry Hess, was born in 1790. On December 10, 1806, she was married to John Robertson in Fincastle, Botetourt, Virginia. They had a nine children: John (b. December 10, 1809), William (b. December 1810), Henry (b. abt. 1811), Isaac (b. abt. 1811), Sophia, Thomas (b. abt. 1819), Elizabeth “Betsy” (b. abt. 1820), James (b. October 15, 1821), and Charles (b. abt. 1831). John and Polly likely moved their children to what is now Pulaski County in the 1830s and then moved along what is called the “Robertson Track” from Pulaski to the Sugar Run area of Giles County, VA. Mary passed away in 1860.
