Richard FitzGerrold was born in Ireland in 1800. He married Nancy Murphy at Fernai in County Cork, Ireland. Together they had three boys (Daniel, John, and William), and three girls (Mary, Julia and Johanna). Richard and Nancy were the last of their family to stay in Ireland–each of their six children emigrated to the US. Richard died in Milstreet, Ireland in 1840.
